CLITTERS SIDING

Almost opposite the Greenhill Arsenic and Brick Works Siding, on the Up side, was the Clitters Siding.  This served, by means of a tramway, the Gunnislake Clitters Tin, Copper and Arsenic Mine and possibly several small quarries in Clitters Wood, alongside the River Tamar.  The Siding itself was a loop and thus accessible for both Up and Down trains.  The Tramway started alongside the Siding.  The arsenic was treated at the Greenhill Works on the opposite side of the track.

Clitters Siding was taken out of use on June 12th 1928, although it was still listed in the Railway Clearing House "Hand Book of Railway Stations, etc." in 1929.
