John Uglow, grocer, was listed as a resident of Tamar Street in 1830.  [1830]

William Underewe (spelt "Vnderewe") was listed as a resident of the Parish of Stoke Damerel in the Devonshire Lay Subsidy of 1332.  [Erskine: D&CRS, 1969]

Rear-Admiral Edwin Veale Underwood CB was appointed Admiral-Superintendent of the Royal Dockyard on September 1st 1919.
