Linked by an archway to Number 25 Store, the Tarring and Wheel House, is Number 26 Store, the Tarred Yarn House, where the white yarn was hung out to dry after passing through the tarring process.  Dating from 1766, and constructed of limestone rubble, this two-storey building still contains the large wooden rollers along which the yarn was wound.

Under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 and succeeding legislation, Number 26 Store, the Tarred Yarn House, has Listed Building Grade 2* status.
