MENHENIOT SIGNAL BOX

Nothing is known about an earlier Menheniot Signal Box other than it was closed in 1892 and replaced by a new one erected by the Great Western Railway Company at 261 miles 60 chains mile post mileage from London Paddington Station via Bristol Temple Meads Station and Plymouth Station (Millbay).

The new Box was opened in February 1892 and measured 22 feet 5 inches by 12 feet.  At irst it contained a 19-lever frame but in January 1936 this was increased to a 36-lever one.

Menheniot Signal Box was closed on and as from September 30th 1973.
