TAMERTON FOLIOT STATION

Tamerton Foliott Station was opened by the London and South Western Railway Company in January 1898.  It was renamed Tamerton Foliot, with only one "t", as from June 1906.

Mr L P Roose, Station Master at Saint Budeaux Station, was also responsible for Tamerton Foliot Station in June 1948.

On Weekdays and Sundays, 'where train service permits', commencing on May 1st 1953, the following cheap day return tickets, first and third class, were available from Tamerton Foliot Station to: Bere Alston, 1 shilling (s) 9 pence (d) 1st, 1s 2d 3rd; Bere Ferrers, 0s 9d 1st, 0s 6d 3rd; Brentor, 5s 9d 1st, 3s 9d 3rd; Bridestowe, 7s 1st, 4s 9d 3rd; Callington, 5s 3d 1st, 3s 6d 3rd; Calstock, 2s 6d 1st, 1s 8d 3rd; Gunnislake, 3s 6d 1st, 2s 3d 3rd; Lydford BRSR, 6s 1st, 4s 3rd; Tavistock North, 4s 1st, 2s 9d, 3rd.

According to the "The Official Hand-book of Station 1956" Tamerton Foliot Station only dealt with passengers, parcels and miscellaneous traffic.

It became an unstaffed Halt on and as from January 5th 1959.

British Railways closed Tamerton Foliot Halt on or as from September 10th 1962.
